Surprise, surprise….X13’s sale on eBay didn’t pan out. I wonder why no one thought the $250K was a good idea???

X13 - Online form & database service

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Ok, this one is a no-brainer. X13 is selling their Online form & database service for $250,000 on eBay and on Web2.0forsale.com. $250,000??? I looked at this service and tried out the demo. I use a free service called Wufoo which is far superior to this X13 offering. Same with another offering from FormLogix. Both of these services have a much better layout than X13 and you are able to embed your forms into your own webpages…from what I could tell, all you can do with X13 is link to the form. And the forms look pretty crappy compared to Wufoo. Not to mention, X13 isn’t selling any existing site with users, just the actual code and database so you can start from scratch. You could use eLance or RentACoder.com and get your own developed from scratch for much, much, much less than $250K. I’m not sure who they think they are going to get to buy this for that much money…but I guess we’ll see. If anyone out there is really interested in starting their own Form site, check out Wufoo and FormLogix first to see what your up against, then see how much to get it developed by coders at eLance or RentACoder. My guess is less than $20,000. Then you can take the $230,000 you just saved and use that towards marketing your new site.
